This policy explains how the University Guide app handles user data when using guidance, search, comparison, favorites, and AI assistant features.

Data we collect

• Account data such as name, email, and encrypted password.
• Education profile data such as preferred city, budget, and preferred majors when provided.
• Favorite universities, saved searches, and comparisons.
• AI assistant conversations and messages to keep your session continuous.

AI assistant

When you use the AI assistant, your question text and limited university context may be processed by a third-party AI provider. We do not send your password, payment data, precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone access.

Use and retention

Data is used to run sign-in, display universities, save your choices, build comparisons, and generate AI assistant answers. Data is retained while the account is active or as required for technical and legal purposes.

Deletion

You can delete your account from inside the app. Deleting removes the account, tokens, and related user data according to the current system design. Limited operational logs may remain briefly for security and diagnostics without being shown as an active user profile.

Security

The app uses encrypted connections in production, and session tokens are stored securely on the device. We do not request camera, location, contacts, or microphone permissions.
